Missy Kittner is a certified Water Safety Instructor and Trainer. She loves teaching babies, toddlers, and adults to swim. She first took swimming lessons at the age of 3 and failed to learn to swim. She persisted and by the age of 11 was swimming competitively; by the age of 15 became a lifeguard; and later went on to coordinate the Learn-to-Swim program for the City of Richardson for 7 years. She is patient with each student knowing that through her anyone at any age can learn to swim.

In this camp, instructor Missy Kittner will continue swimming training emphasizing primary skills such as floating on the front and back, beginning swimming on the front and back, rhythmic breathing, and treading water. Safety is paramount in every skill which the children will learn. This camp is for kids ages 6-14. This will meet for a total of 8 days.
Parents do not need to accompany the child during camp.

NOTE: The required liability waiver from Columbus Avenue Baptist Church must be completed. Wear your swimsuit and bring a towel. Goggles are optional. Students will meet at the CENTER of Columbus Avenue Baptist Church, 1115 Columbus Ave. You can fill out the waiver online by using the Online Form. Alternatively, you can fill out the Printable Form and bring it to class."

Beginning Swimming for Adults

Calling all adults who never learned to swim - there is no time like the present! This course is designed specifically for adults to learn the basics of swimming and to encourage those adults who want to improve their skills and confidence in the water. Instructor Missy Kittner will put you at ease and teach you the techniques to enjoy the pool. After this course, you will have no excuse not to ""jump in."" Wear your swimsuit and bring a towel. Goggles are optional. The class will meet at The Center of Columbus Avenue Baptist Church. Students must be 18 years of age or older to register. Columbus Avenue Baptist Church requires the completion of a liability waiver to take this class. When registering for this class through this website, understand that you may not be allowed to participate in the class until Columbus Avenue Baptist Church has a liability waiver on file.
