Patient Care Technicians provide direct patient care and assist doctors, nurses, and other healthcare professionals with performing day-to-day care. NURA_1013_01 - Beth Ratliff

Learn to accurately & safely administer medications to health care facility residents. Following successful course completion & the required written state testing, graduates are listed on a central roster with the State of Texas Regulatory Services as a Certified Medication Aide (CMA). Strict admission criteria includes: ability to read, write, & speak English; 18 years of age or older; free of communicable diseases & in suitable health to safely administer medications; original copy or notarized photocopy of a high school diploma or GED; and finally either be a registered Texas CNA in good standing while employed in a licensed Medicaid facility or be a non-licensed person employed in a long-term or immediate direct patient care center with at least 90 days of patient care experience within the last year prior to the class. Once you have enrolled and submitted your state application, you will need to contact medication_aide_program@hhs.texas.gov to request the IdentiGo service code for background check fingerprinting & go to the Woodway facility to have them processed for your state license application.
