Swimming lessons for babies and toddlers ages 6 months - four years old and their parents. This water introduction program, taught by Missy Kittner, helps the parent and child get used to the water and see the pool as fun. Parents and children play games that introduce basic introductory water skills such as blowing bubbles, breath control, kicking, and floating. The class focuses on water orientation and encourages parents and babies to trust each other in the water. Wear your swimsuit and bring a towel. Goggles are optional. All children not potty-trained must wear a swim diaper when in class. An adult must be in the water with the child at all times (shallow water only). Parent must register and be present in class. Child's name will be recorded at the time of registration. Class will meet at the Center of Columbus Avenue Baptist Church. Columbus Avenue Baptist Church requires the completion of a liability waiver to take this class. This class is designed for beginner swimmers ages 4 to 5 years of age. Finally, we move to working on swimming with arms and legs consistent on front and back. Safety is paramount in every skill that is learned as a swimmer in these classes. This class is designed for both beginner swimmers with little experience in the water and those who are very comfortable in the water but may not know how to swim with a consistent breath rhythm. Led by Missy Kittner, this camp will start with comfort and acclimation to the water along with basic survival swimming, then moves on to learning correct body movement in the water for floating, gliding, and kicking. Finally, we will work on swimming with arms and legs moving consistently in front and back. Safety is paramount in every skill that is learned. Piano students! Have a piano piece ready to play? Dust it off and join us for our first online MCC Piano Camp & Competition! Students will get a front-row seat to two online masterclasses, two solo piano recitals, and one entry into a competition with ranking, feedback, and a winners recital. Dr. Sharon Lavery of McLennan Community College will present a live, online masterclass on Monday, August 3rd at 1:30pm, followed by a recital broadcast at 4:30pm. Dr. Leslie Spotz of Tarleton University will present a live, online masterclass on Wednesday, August 5th at 1:30pm, followed by a recital at 4:30pm. Students will have until Thursday, August 6th at 5:00pm to submit their final competition recording (one piano solo video). The online competition awards ceremony will take place Friday, August 7th at 1:30pm, followed by a broadcast of the winning videos. In addition to gaining access to archived recordings of these broadcasts viewable at a later date, students will also receive links to practice tips, piano literature guides, and fun, piano-centric materials. All applicants must complete an in-person interview to assess immediate musical needs. Camp is for kids 7-15 years of age.

This camp will be in an online-virtual format. All materials for camp are included in registration fee.

This Saturday course will help you develop finiancial literacy and the knowledge of entrepreneurship. You will learn the process of starting a business, different types of businesses, how to create a budget, calculate expenses, revenue, and profits. By the end you will create a mini business plan and conduct a "baby shark tank" pitch. This academy is geared towards middle school students, but requests will be considered.

You will receive instruction in making a yeast pizza dough, from mixing and kneading techniques to baking tips, for pizzeria worthy pizza. Families will then apply the information learned by working in teams to complete a basic pizza dough recipe using all-purpose and specialty flours. At the end of class everyone will get to enjoy pizza samples. This course is designed for families who participate in at-home learning, due to the scheduled time. The class will meet in MCC's own residential-style kitchen. Sorry, no refunds.
